What should I expect after my endodontic treatment?

After your endodontic treatment at Expert Endodontics, it’s normal to experience mild tenderness in the treated tooth and surrounding gum tissue for a few days. This is a natural part of the healing process and can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. You can resume your regular dental hygiene routine and most daily activities immediately after the procedure. However, avoid chewing on the treated side until your tooth has been restored with a protective crown or filling by your restorative dentist.

While complications after endodontic treatment are rare, it’s important to monitor for the following:

  • Persistent or severe pain: If discomfort does not improve or worsens, it could indicate an issue.
  • Swelling or infection: If you notice swelling or signs of infection, such as fever or pus, please contact us immediately.
  • Cracking or fractures: Until your tooth is fully restored, it may be more susceptible to damage, so avoid chewing hard or sticky foods on the treated side.

Our team at Expert Endodontics is available to address any concerns or questions you may have. If you experience any unusual symptoms, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance. Your comfort and dental health are our priorities!
